  • A one-hour workshop with Leah Clearwater of the Margaret River Wine Academy, providing expert insights into the unique terroir of the Margaret River region.
  • Bespoke wine tastings at three premium, award-winning wineries.
  • A gourmet, shared-style lunch at a popular winery (drinks at own cost) with Leah as your host.
  • Return transfers to your accommodation in our spacious, air-conditioned vehicle.

Sample Itinerary

The wineries visited on this tour are selected based on a number of factors, including venue availability, weather and geographic location of guests.  We have set out below a sample itinerary so you can get a feel for the calibre of venues you can expect to visit on this tour, however please note that this is a sample itinerary only and is subject to change from time to time.
  • 10:00am | Margaret River Essentials Workshop with Leah Clearwater | Begin your day with an immersive one-hour session that will enhance your understanding of the regional characteristics and unique flavour profiles of Margaret River wines.
  • 11:00am | Wine tasting at Fermoy Estate | Known for its impressive history of medal winning chardonnays and cabernets, architectural charm and small batch production, with all wines made from estate grown fruit. Somewhat of a quiet achiever, you’ll be surprised to learn about the incredible accolades this humble but impressive winery has achieved on the international wine show circuit. Your tasting experience at Fermoy is an insider’s treat! 
  • 12:00pm | Wine tasting at Domaine Naturaliste With a cellar door perched up against the vines, you can't get much closer to the source than Domaine Naturaliste. Owned by iconic Margaret River winemaker, Bruce Dukes, you will indulge in the mastery of a winemaker whose career spans more than three decades and includes a portfolio of award-winning wines for prestigious local and international wineries.
  • 1:00pm | Gourmet lunch at Masseria by Cherubino Indulge in Italian-inspired cuisine crafted from premium local produce at Masseria by Cherubino.  This shared-style lunch has been designed to create a sense of family and connection with your tour group and host, and offers a relaxed yet refined dining experience to compliment your day.
  • 2:30pm | Historic winery tour & private tasting experience at Vasse Felix The one that started it all! Take a stroll through the vineyard (weather permitting) and learn about the fascinating history of this iconic first commercial winery of the region. Gain access to 'The Vault' wine museum and finish off your premium experience with a generous tasting of world renowned wines. A trip to Margaret River is not complete without a visit to Vasse Felix.

Tour duration: 6 hours (approximately)

Time: 10:00am - 4:00pm, with pick ups commencing from 9:00am and drop-offs finished by 5:00pm.

About Leah Clearwater

Leah Clearwater is an acclaimed wine educator and the founder of the Margaret River Wine Academy. Leah a diverse 28-year career spanning viticulture, wine education and hospitality, Leah holds a PhD in Viticulture and Oenology and has lectured for Curtin University.

Leah is the principal author of the Grape and Wine Research Commission’s 'Margaret River Regional Profile' (2007) and worked closely with the Department of Primary Industries in profiling the region's distinctive soils and terroir to define the characteristics of this special appellation. Leah has decades of experience and relationships with premium wine producers in Margaret River and an exceptional ability to make wine knowledge accessible and engaging. Her passion for Margaret River ensures an unforgettable and educational experience.
